This international festival of rosé and sparkling wine will gather winemakers (both male and female) from Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, etc., as well as olive-growers from across Croatia. The Festival will feature entertainment, educational and charity programs, as well as give the visitors an opportunity to enjoy a glass of fine rosé (pink) or sparkling wine. This year as well, Pink Day Zagreb is dedicated not only to fine wine and oil, but also to a good cause. This year's Pink Day Zagreb will also features Pink Week Croatia, an event dedicated to women's health, i.e. prevention and treatment of breast cancer. On March 15, a new generation of Croatian chefs will organize an evening of fine dining at the Shamper bistro situated in the beautiful ambiance of the Zrinski Castle in Čakovec. Matija Bogdan, Goran Kočiš, Luka Stanišak and Dominik Severinac will prepare a seven-course meal complemented by two Shamper sparkling wine brands. These young chefs have worked in some of the best restaurants in the world: German, Austrian and American (San Francisco). Their experience comes from working at Michelin-starred restaurants and some of the world's best 50 restaurants. The menu features both traditional Croatian and international ingredients masterfully combined to create extraordinary, carefully designed combinations and shapes. The tradition of making garlic salami locally known as češnjofke, other types of salami and cured-meat products has been nurtured and imparted from one generation to another by almost all Samobor families. The first Salamijada, a salami festival, was organized as a public event at the end of the 1980s, at the initiative of a group of salami preparation enthusiasts. Over the years, the festival has turned into an international event gathering over 1000 salami lovers at its closing event. Samoborska salama (Samobor salami) became the first trademark of the town of Samobor. It now has a protected identity, new look and market position in addition to its special qualities preserved by staying true to the recipe that hasn’t changed for decades.
