Biograd Table, the festival of authentic food, beverages, culinary delicacies, original souvenirs and folklore, will take place in Biograd na Moru from June 6^th to June 8^th, 2014. Biograd Table will present the wealth of our country. It aims to link the blue and green Croatia – food and tourism, two segments which are and should be the long-term basis of Croatia’s economic development. The Novigrad scallop, called capesanta in this region, is considered one of the best in the world, which is attributable to the mixing of seawater with fresh water in Novigrad bay. Novigrad prepares each year a culinary festival devoted to kapešanta where, besides traditional and modern recipes with this key ingredient and other shell fish, one can sample local wine, brandies and liqueurs, premium extra virgin olive oil, honey, marmalades and jams, prosciutto and cheese, and other culinary delights of this region. The Golden Wines of Alps-Adriatic 2014 is an international wine exhibition of the Koprivnica-Križevci County which will take place on June 7^th, 2014 at the Hotel Picok in Đurđevac, Trg Sv. Jurja 9. The Malvasia Festival will gather about 40 winemakers for three days and present to visitors from Poreč and its surroundings the most famous and internationally renowned Istrian variety of white wine. Velo Grablje, a village near the Town of Hvar, is the host of the Lavender Festival for the sixth year in a row. The festival organizers are aiming to promote tourism and preserve the tradition of growing lavender on Hvar Island. The island has a long tradition of growing lavender and is widely renowned as the Island of Lavender, famous also for its lavender extract production, the only source of revenue for many of its inhabitants until the growth of tourism. Velo Grablje was the leading producer of lavender oil in Dalmatia, and the festival aims to stimulate lavender cultivation and lavender oil production.
